THE LATIN GRAMMY CULTURAL FOUNDATION® NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BOTH GIFTED TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

A maximum of $700,000 are Available for 43 Music Students
with Financial Need who are Interested in Latin Music

Deadline to Apply is April 10, 2019
The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® announced today that applications are now open for the Gifted Tuition Scholarships and the Tuition Assistance Scholarships. Talented music students between the ages of 17-24 years old with financial constraints, admitted to the university of their choice and interested in Latin music are eligible to apply.

The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation will distribute a maximum of $700,000, in an effort to foster and support the next generation of talented musicians, who will continue the legacy of Latin music and its significant contribution to the world’s culture, as follows:

  • Three Gifted Tuition Scholarships of $25,000 annually for four years, for a maximum of $100,000, are available for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in music. This award will cover tuition costs only.
  • 40 Tuition Assistance Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a maximum allotment of $10,000 each. This is a one-time award that will cover tuition costs and will only be valid for one year of study for the following semesters: Fall 2019 and Spring 2020.
“We are pleased once again to help provide talented students with financial constraints a quality music education,” said Manolo Díaz, Sr. Vice President, Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. “Our work is more relevant than ever as Latin music continues to grow and captivate audiences worldwide.”

As of today, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation has committed to donating a remarkable $4 million towards 200 scholarships, musical instrument donations, and educational events in Ibero-America. Applications and guidelines are available at LatinGRAMMYCulturalFoundation.com. As part of the process, students must complete two audition videos, submit two letters of recommendation and, answer two essay questions. The materials can be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese.  The deadline to apply is April 10, 2019, by 11:59 p.m. EDT.
