Since its creation in 1995 by a small group of Lake Worth residents led by Erin Allen and Maryanne Webber, the Street Painting Festival has grown into the most highly anticipated free cultural event in South Florida. Modeled after I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival in Santa Barbara, California, the art of street painting has attracted onlookers since the 16th century, when crowds would gather to watch as itinerant artists created masterworks on the cobblestones. Now in its third decade, the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival attracts 100,000 visiters each year.

Presented each February with the support of sponsors, artists and volunteers, the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival claims bragging rights as the largest free festival of its kind in the world. Watch as over 600 artists converge, using chalk as their brush and the pavement as canvas, to turn the downtown streets of Lake Worth into a temporary gallery of art, creating a diverse variety of large scale traditional, contemporary and 3D illusionist paintings on the street.

For over 20 years Maryanne Webber has served with passion and dedication as volunteer chairperson and artist coordinator on the Street Painting Festival committee. In business in downtown Lake Worth for nearly 30 years, she closed her retail gallery in September, 2014. She now serves as Executive Director of the Street Painting Festival alongside Nadine Burns, Event Producer and Coordinator. Nadine is a former Lake Worth City Commissioner who served two terms and was event coordinator for the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce. The Street Painting Festival and its committee work in partnership with the City of Lake Worth, the Community Redevelopment Agency and the LULA Arts District, creating an event that today serves as an inspiration and model for similar events throughout the United States and abroad.

The Street Painting Festival is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds and contributions produce the Street Painting Festival event and benefit the Street Painting Festival Scholarships which are awarded each May to Palm Beach County graduating high school students, and community projects associated with the arts.
