Curb | Word Entertainment’s artists and projects were honored last night with a total of seven Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards across several categories. This tally marks the highest number of awards earned by artists/projects signed to an independent label group, this year.
“All of us at Curb | Word Entertainment are incredibly proud of our artists, partners, and projects that were recognized with Dove Awards last night. for KING & COUNTRY, Big Daddy Weave, and Natalie Grant kicked off the show and set the tone for a special evening. Winners included touring and radio phenomenon NEEDTOBREATHE who picked up a Dove Award in the Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year category for its sweeping and emotional, “Walking On Water.”
Producers Joseph Prielozny and Benjamin Backus were honored for their contributions as producers on the Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year, Today We Rebel by KB.
Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year was awarded to Skillet’s Unleashed Beyond, while the roots-inspired “Dinner on the Ground (ft. the Oak Ridge Boys),” garnered a Dove in the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year category.
Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year was awarded to for KING & COUNTRY for its Christmas | Live In Phoenix album, and the Dove for Musical of The Year went to How to Have the Best Christmas Ever by creators Daniel Semsen, Heidi Petak, Jeff Bumgardner and Joel Lindsey.
The 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards were handed out last night in the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards will be televised on TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) on Sunday, October 21 at 9 p.m. ET.
